Update the app
Often times you need to update the app to fix any bugs in the older versions. Go to Play Store and search for YouTube and YouTube VR. Update both apps. Then restart your device.
Switch to the website
If the problem persists then watch your YouTube videos through their website on one mobile browser. You can also try the YouTube Go app, the smaller version of the app designed for devices with less memory and regions with a poor internet connection.

Sometimes Picture-in-Picture mode (PiP) can be responsible for the problem due to a bug in the app. It is useful to disable this mode. Here is how to do it. Step 1: Launch the device settings and go to Apps / Application Manager. Step 2: Tap YouTube under All apps.
Step 3: Scroll down and tap Picture-in-picture. Shut it down.
